About the Poet
I’ve loved, read, written, and taught poetry for much of my adult life. I find joy in sitting outside watching things, and I believe the time you spend sitting under trees is not wasted.

I received both my M.A. and my M.F.A. in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University, where I have taught creative writing and poetry writing. I've taught poetry to people of all ages. I was the Peninsula Instructor in Poetry for U.C. Berkeley Extension for many years, and have taught for the Lifelines Project for cancer patients and their caregivers, the Foothill Summer Youth Project, the Stanford Upward Bound Project for at-risk teenagers, the Jack London Writers Conference, the Rosalie Rendue Center for English language learners, and other organizations. I also occasionally teach private workshops.
